Impact of social security benefits on the daily allowance
Depending on the benefit, social security benefits may prevent you from receiving the daily allowance or be deducted in full from the amount of allowance. Some benefits have no effect on the daily allowance. If you receive any social security benefits, mention them in your application.
Benefits that prevent payment of earnings-related allowance
- unemployment pension
- Total disability pension granted in Finland
- years-of-service pension
- full retirement pension

- pregnancy allowance, parental allowance or special pregnancy allowance

- daily allowance under the Health Insurance Act
- daily allowance under the Accident Insurance Act
- compensation for lost earnings under the Motor Insurance Act and Accident Insurance Act
- rehabilitation allowance and corresponding compensation for lost earnings
- farmer’s early retirement aid
- change-of-generation pension

- partial disability pension
- disability benefits paid from another country
- part-time pension
- retirement pension (not full)
- retirement pension not awarded on the basis of full years of service
- supplementary pension provided by an employer
- child care allowance (including any received by your spouse, unless your spouse cares for the child and is absent from the labour market as a result)
- flexible care allowance
- part-time care allowance
- student financial aid
- farm closure pension
- farm closure compensation
- disability pension under the Motor Insurance Act and not granted on the basis of total disability
- compensation for lost earnings under the Motor Insurance Act
- daily allowance under the Soldiers’ Disability Act and not granted on the basis of total disability
- compensation paid on the basis of the Act on Compensation for Military Accidents and Service-Related Illnesses
- benefit corresponding to supplementary life annuity under the Accident Insurance Act and not granted on the basis of total disability
